In an exclusive interview given to senior journalist Hemang Palan, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Harsh Sanghavi stated that energy security and sustainability go hand-in-hand with the industrial growth in the state.
Responding to a specific question on Gujarat government's focus on adoption of renewable energy sources, he said: "The Government of Gujarat has consistently been a pioneer in renewable energy adoption. Through our progressive state renewable energy policies, we are heavily incentivizing captive solar and wind power generation for the industrial clusters in Gujarat."
Sanghavi added that for textile and diamond MSMEs, Gujarat government is simplifying the regulatory framework to accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar installations. "This not only eases the pressure on our conventional power grids but also significantly reduces operational expenditures (OPEX) for local businesses, making their export products more price-competitive in the global market. Furthermore, by transitioning to green energy, industries in Gujarat are actively reducing their carbon footprint, which is increasingly becoming a mandate for international trade compliance," he added.
A detailed interview of Harsh Sanghavi will be published in the forthcoming edition of prestigious 'Business India' magazine. Businessindia.co
