Direct air services connecting Porbandar, Keshod, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai will resume on June 25, 2026 operating twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays. Government of India-owned Alliance Air will offer this air connectivity through ATR aircrafts to the passengers keen on visiting Porbandar and the nearby tourist destinations including the temples of Dwarka and Somnath.

In an exclusive telephone interaction with Hemang Palan, Union Minister and Porbandar MP Dr Mansukhbhai Mandaviya said that more flights from Porbandar are set to boost tourism and business connectivity in the region.

The existing Porbandar Airport runway is undergoing an extension from 1,300 to 3,000 meters to accommodate larger aircrafts in the future. “In the future, Porbandar airport will also be developed as an important cargo hub,” said Dr Mandaviya.

These flight services align with Dr Mansukh Mandaviya's wider regional development goals, which most recently include leading the Viksit Porbandar Furniture Park Summit to transform the coastal city into a major port-linked manufacturing hub.

Porbandar Airport is a domestic airport and also an Indian Navy base. The airport had direct flights to Ahmedabad, Delhi and Mumbai cities since the 1980s, all of which were discontinued in 2020. After a brief period of inactivity, the airport restarted operations in March 2025 with daily direct flights to Mumbai operated by SpiceJet.
